Sea Glass Angels

Through Tina's wonderful 25 Days of Giveaways, I found a blog (but I can't remember which one) that introduced me to this lovely esty shop that makes beautiful angels and other things from sea glass.  As soon as I saw these I knew I had to have them:

I remembered reading a post by Once a Mother about sea glass and the fact that these came in a set just moved me so much.  One pink.  One blue.  The pink one just a tad bigger than the blue and the blue looks like it has a special heart.  They are so perfect!

Sea glass gets is smooth shape by riding the waves and getting beaten against the rocks and waves.  Over time, they loose their sharp, painful edges and corners and resemble a jewel instead of broken glass.  The glass is not destroyed by the pressure and pain of the crashing waves and jagged rocks, it's perfected by them.

What a beautiful reminder of the grief journey and of my angel babies.

Oh my goodness... I believe I am going to have to get one of these as well! :) I could wear Savannah around my neck always... and I love the sea glass metaphor in compared to our tragedies!

Post some pictures when you get yours!!

So beautiful! I don't know where I've been, but I'm just finding you at this blog...it's absolutely beautiful!!! I love, love, love it! And, I read about the sea glass at Once a Mother, also. Love the concept and how it relates to walking through grief...and the beauty that surely rises from the ashes. The beauty from the pain...the shaping and molding at the stuff of this life beats against us. Just beautiful. Thanks so much for sharing this.

Hope you are doing well. You are in my heart and prayers...and on my mind.

Love to you,
kelly

This is beautiful, much like the heart rocks that wash up on the shores. They have beaten against each other so much that they become smooth and shaped like what is broken when we lose our children. I also gave you a blog award! You are an inspiration.

Whenever I see sea glass I am always reminded of Kristin's post. And I have even looked at getting a sea glass necklace. Maybe I'll give one away for Carleigh's birthday!
