A {Sorta} Picnic

I've been taking Ethan to a neighboring county library for summer reading this year.  They have so much more activities for kids his age and their library is AMAZING!

The only thing is, we burn alot of gas going there, so we try to save where it counts.  I often bring snacks and this particular day, I even packed a picnic lunch which we were so excited to get to eat in the children's garden at the library.  So we thought...

It rained. At lunch time.  So we adjusted our plans and ate our picnic in the van!

And, of course, as soon as we finished our "picnic" the rain cleared away and we had a marvelous day.

I love making these memories with him!

Linking up at Snapshot Saturday!

Picnics are fun--even in the van! Looks like he's enjoying it.

Here's my Snapshot.

It is fun to have a picnic anywhere!

Sounds like good spontaneous fun! Nice that you found a library with great programs, even if it is a drive.

Oh this brought back so many memories of when my daughters were small! We used to have picnics in the car if the weather turned bad, and sometimes when it rained we had indoor picnics, and they made the food, and we had paper plates and put a table cloth on the floor! Summer time is a great time to go out and enjoy libraries just for the fun of it. It's so great to hear there are still good, active libraries around. And picnics? Those are fun anytime, anywhere :)

This is the kind of fun thing kids remember forever.
